I was on the search for a new watch to replace my Cold Picnic (IV) watch (purchased from Of A Kind) because it stopped working all of a sudden (yes, I replaced the battery recently). I was looking at Olivia Burton (I) , The Horse (II), and Daniel Wellington (III) watches, but I ended up getting a Daniel Wellington Watch, mostly because I was perusing Instagram during my stopover on my flight home from Toronto, and one of my favourite bloggers posted a discount code for DW, so I got a great deal on the watch. If this weren't the case, it would be a hard choice deciding between Olivia Burton watches and The Horse watches because they had a more affordable price point. Olivia Burton has some really nice floral & animal watches with lots of colour options. Meanwhile, The Horse is the definition of minimal and classic. Daniel Wellington has both minimal, classic, and colour choices because they sell different watch bands for accessorizing options, so best of both worlds!

I recently went to Mountain Equipment Co-Op (MEC) to purchase some panniers for my bicycle, and I noticed that they have since up their style game since I last paid them a visit. Their latest line of vintage-inspired backpacks are so lovely. I think they really nailed it style-wise.

Jaime did a post a while ago talking some spring clothing trends, which includes joggers (sweat pants) made of non-conventional sweat pant material. This means you can pair it with a fancy top and you're ready to go. I picked up two pairs and it's possibly the best decision I've ever made for comfort & style. I also picked up some other things along the way that I love.

spring trend: clothes with a different twist

This spring I'm liking pieces that are made of unexpected materials.

2 favourites:

Silk sweatshirt from j.crew, unfortunately no longer available, but that I love the idea of.

The softest denim pants that are basically sweatpants, from aritzia (don't worry, I am aware that these pants are man-repellers and fully prepared to accept the consequences).

I'll get back to you when I manage to find a pair of dress shoes that feel like sneakers.

style obsession: new balance sneakers

After months of scrolling through Pinterest and admiring the casual-chic New Balance + any outfit ever styles, I bit the bullet and bought myself a pair of these bad boys. Not to mention, they were incredibly hard to find during my travels, or in my size, and few places will ship to Canada.

1. Lomo LC-A Camera - load this baby with some slide film, shoot, and cross process!
2. Fjallraven Kanken laptop backpack - water resistant, awesome for cramming lots of goods into, and the padded laptop pocket is good for storing laptops, iPads, valuables
3. Sigma 17-70mm lens for Canon DSLRs - nice wide angle and wide aperture, very versatile lens, great value for the price
4. Uniball Black Roller Pen - lovely fine point pen, smooth, and water resistant
5. Moleskine Plain Softcover Pocket Journal - I get a new one every time I travel somewhere, has useful pocket in the back for storing ticket stubs etc.

Some finds from my thrifting adventures the other week. Levi's jeans that I've cut into shorts, an LL Bean chambray shirt, and a J. Crew blazer with neat detailing on the inside. All for $13.

Sooo, I have a habit of buying things that are on sale and going out of season, then not wearing them because the weather changes to super hot/super cold. Basically, I love sales. So since all the stores are filling up with Spring/Summer clothes, all the winter stuff is now on sale - like BOOTS!! YEAH! So I bought a couple pairs on wicked sale at Spring Shoes. Also, bought this arrow necklace from Stella & Dot.
